Fake BaBa held on molestation charge

A self-proclaimedFake BaBa was arrested on Tuesday on charge ofmolesting a teenage girl, the police said on Tuesday. A resident of Akbar Hills, Mohammed Sadiq Hussain, a self-proclaimedgodman, was arrested by the Rajendranagar police on charges of molesting a teenage girl, the police said on Tuesday.

According to police sources, the accused Mohammed Sadiq Hussain, a resident of Akbar Hills, allegedly claimed to cure people from various ailments through his acquired miraculous powers and spiritual exercises.Last week, a woman of Tolichowki had come to him along with her 16-year-old daughter as the girl was unwell.

Sadiq told the woman to come on November 8 and would cure her daughter through his divine boons. However, on the pretext of curing her, he chanted some hymns and started molesting the girl.
“He took the girl into a room where he tried to outrage her modesty.
Realizing Sadiq’s cruel intention, she raised an alarm and started screaming and immediately came out of the room,” inspector V Umender said. Based on a complaint lodged by the mother, cops arrested Sadiq and produced him before a court which sent him to jail on a 14-day judicial remand.
Police also registered a case against the fake godman under various sections of the Nirbhaya Act.
