Hyderabad Police secured fatwa against DJ’s, marfa, firework, late night weddingsHyderabad: In a unique way to curb the wedding celebration in the Old City in Hyderabad, involving fireworks and hired female dancers, South Zone police secured a fatwa (religious opinion) fromwell-known Islamic seminary Jamia Nizamia on the issue.According to a report published in Times of India, the police was having a tough time to implement a complete ban on ‘orchestras’ and a fixed timing of the functions as mentioned on the wedding invitation cards. The Times of India quotes noted Islamic scholar Mufti Mohammed Azeemuddin from the Jamia’s Darul Ifta (or the fatwa centre), as writing that “A ban on singing, music and orchestra performances at weddings by the police department is not akin to interfering in Islamic sharia law. Ahmedabad: Jashodaben Modi, estranged wife of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi denied passport. Regional Passport Office said that the application is incomplete. Regional Passport Officer, Z.A. Khan said that the application of Jashodaben was incomplete as she failed to attach marriage certificate or joint affidavit with the spouse. Meanwhile, Ashok Modi, brother of Jashodaben confirmed that the passport application is rejected by the officials. He also said that Jashodaben applied for the passport as she wanted to meet her family friends abroad. It is to be noted that PM Modi in his election affidavit filed in 2014 during the parliamentary elections had mentioned Jashodaben’s name as his spouse.

Earlier, Ram Jethmalani had revealed that the then Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Sharad Pawar, had rejected Dawood’s conditional offer of surrender . According to Jethmalani, Dawood had wanted to surrender but with a condition that he should be kept under house arrest rather than in jail. Dawood said that the reason behind this condition is that he feared for his life.
